    IPMAT stands for Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, for admission to their five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM). This program is designed for students who have completed their 12th standard or equivalent and wish to pursue a career in management.

    I. Introduction

    IPMAT stands for Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, for admission to their five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM). This program is designed for students who have completed their 12th standard or equivalent and wish to pursue a career in management.


    The IPMAT exam is held once a year in the month of April/May. It is a computer-based test (CBT) that assesses the candidate's aptitude and skills in various areas such as quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, and logical reasoning. The exam comprises multiple-choice questions and is designed to test the candidate's speed and accuracy.

    II. IPMAT Exam Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates satisfying the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management of IIM Indore:

    • Age: Candidate should have been born on or after August 01, 2003 (5 years of relaxation to the candidates from SC/ST/PwD category will be given i.e. born on or after August 01, 1998).

    • Qualifying Exam: Candidate should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2021, 2022 or appearing in 2023.

    • Standard X/SSC or Equivalent: Candidate should have passed standard X/ SSC

    Note 1: Candidates completing Standard XII/HSC by July 31, 2023, can apply provisionally but must produce their mark sheets and certificates at the time of registration.

    Note 2: Marks in X and XII Standard are calculated based on aggregate marks of all subjects, and grade conversion is based on certified procedures.

    Note 3: Applicants from international schools affiliated with foreign boards like IGCSE and IB can apply but must produce "The IB Indian Percentage Transcript."

    Note 4: IIM Indore has the right to decide eligibility conditions, including equivalence, percentage of marks, and recognition of the qualifying examination.

    III. IPMAT Selection Process

    Candidates will be selected based on performance in Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Interview (PI). Those who do not appear for either will not be considered. The selection process includes:

    1. Eligible candidates submit online application.
    2. Candidates meeting eligibility criteria take AT.
    3. Eligible pool for PI created from candidates with positive raw scores and minimum marks in each section.
    4. Shortlisted candidates take PI through online/offline mode.
    5. Final selection based on Composite Score (CS) which includes ATS and PI scores.

    It's important to note that the topics covered may not be limited to the ones mentioned in the table, and the exam conducting body may introduce new topics or modify the syllabus as per their discretion.

    V. IPMAT Exam Preparation Strategy

    VI. IPMAT Application Fees

    Eligible candidates can apply for the IPM by submitting their application online at www.iimidr.ac.in Candidate must also pay the non-refundable/non-transferable application fee of Rs. 4,130/- (inclusive of GST @18%) for general category candidates and Rs. 2,065/- (inclusive of GST @18%) for SC/ST/PwD category candidates.

    Candidates belonging to NC‐OBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories must provide valid Caste/Category certificates in support of their reservation category, and those belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must provide a valid document to prove their eligibility.

    VII. IPMAT Exam Admit Card

    The IPMAT exam admit card is an important document that candidates must carry to the exam center. The admit card contains the candidate's name, roll number, exam center, and other relevant details. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website of IIM Indore. The steps to download the admit card are as follows:

    • Visit the official website of IIM Indore.
    • Click on the 'Download Admit Card' link.
    • Enter the required details such as application number and date of birth.
    • Click on the 'Submit' button.
    • The admit card will be displayed on the screen.

    VIII. IPMAT Exam Result and Cut-off

    The IPMAT exam result is usually declared in the month of May/June. The result is announced on the official website of IIM Indore. The steps to check the result are as follows:

    • Click on the 'IPMAT Result' link.
    • Enter the required details such as roll number and date of birth.
    • Click on the 'Submit' button.
    • The result will be displayed on the screen.
    • Download and take a printout of the result for future reference.
    • The IPMAT exam cut-off is the minimum score required by a candidate to qualify for the further selection process. The cut-off marks vary every year and depend on various factors such as the number of candidates, difficulty level of the exam, and available seats. The cut-off marks are announced along with the result.

    IX. IPMAT Exam Counselling

    The IPMAT exam counseling process involves the following steps:
