    • MHT CET 2023 is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra for admission into various undergraduate courses such as engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture in colleges and universities in Maharashtra.
    • Approximately 20 % weightage is given to class XI curriculum and 80 % weightage is given to class XII curriculum while setting the question paper.

    MHT CET 2023 Overview

    MHT-CET is a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering the syllabus of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The exam is conducted in online mode in multiple sessions, and candidates can choose the session and center of their choice while registering for the exam.

    The MHT-CET exam comprises of three papers - Paper 1 (Mathematics), Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) and Paper 3 (Biology). Each paper consists of 100 questions, and each question carries one mark. The duration of each paper is 90 minutes, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

    Based on the scores obtained in the MHT-CET exam, candidates can apply for admission to various colleges in Maharashtra offering undergraduate courses in Engineering, Pharmacy, and Agriculture.

    Eligibility Criteria For MHT-CET Exam

    To be eligible for MHT CET 2023, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

    1. Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian National.
    2. Age Limit: There is no age limit for MHT CET 2023.
    3. Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination in the current academic year are also eligible to apply for MHT CET 2023.
    4. Educational Qualification:
    • For engineering  courses, Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in PCM subjects taken together (45% for reserved categories).


    It is important to note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission to the colleges offering undergraduate courses in Engineering in Maharashtra. Candidates must also qualify for the MHT CET 2023 exam and fulfill the other admission criteria set by the respective colleges.

    Paper Pattern for MHT CET

    MHTCET will have 3 question papers of Multiple Choice Question (MCQs), and each paper will be of 100 marks. The details are given below:

    • Approximately 20% weightage is given to class XI curriculum, and 80% weightage will be given to class XII curriculum while setting the Question Paper.

    • There will be no negative marking, however difficulty level of MHT CET will be at par with Jee Main for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for PCM and difficulty level for Biology will be at Par with NEET. The Questions of MHTCET 2023 will be application based.
