    1. SSC MTS Exam:

    The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) Exam, also known as the SSC MTS exam, as a national-level examination for selecting suitable candidates for General Central Service Group-C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various government organizations and offices across India. The SSC MTS exam is a valuable opportunity for 10th pass candidates to kickstart their career in the government sector.

    The Successful candidates will be appointed as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and will be salaried with Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission with basic pay of Rs. 5,200-20,200 + Grade Pay Rs.1,800.

    2. Eligibility Criteria For SSC MTS Exam

    To be eligible for the SSC MTS exam, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Nationality: A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1962 with the intention of permanently settling, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

    • Age Limit: The candidates should be aged between 18-25 years for MTS in CBN (Department of Revenue) and between 18-27 years for a few posts of MTS in CBIC (Department of Revenue) (i.e. born before 02-01-1997 and not later than 01-01-2004).

    • Educational Qualification: The candidates must have completed a minimum of matriculation(Class 10th) or equivalent level of education from a recognized educational board.

    • Physical Fitness:  Candidates must meet certain physical standards, which include a minimum height of 157.5 cms for General Category and Ex-serviceman, and 155 cms for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates. All categories must also have a minimum chest measurement of 77 cms (unexpanded) and 82 cms (expanded) and a minimum weight of 48 kgs. Candidates with certain disabilities may still be able to apply if they meet the physical requirements, as specified in the official SSC MTS notification for 2023.

    • Other Requirements: You must not have any criminal records and must be of good character. You must also be proficient in the official language of the state or union territory in which you are applying.

    The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the dates for the SSC MTS recruitment. Online applications for SSC MTS can be submitted between 18-01-2023 to 17-02-2023. The last date for receipt of online applications for SSC MTS is 17-02-2023 at 23:00. The last date for making online fee payment for SSC MTS is 19-02-2023 at 23:00. Those who wish to make payment through Challan for SSC MTS can do so on 20-02-2023 during the working hours of the bank. There is also a 'Window for Application Form Correction' and online payment of Correction Charges for SSC MTS from 23-02-2023 to 24-02-2023 at 23:00.     The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the MTS & Havaldar Vacancy 2023 along with the MTS Notification 2023. In total, there are 12523 vacancies available, which includes 11994 Multi Tasking Staff positions and 529 Havaldar positions in the CBIC and CBN.     The SSC MTS 2023 exam has an application fee of Rs. 100/-, however, individuals from the SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen category and female candidates are not required to pay this fee.

    7. Syllabus for SSC MTS:

    The syllabus for the SSC MTS exam typically includes the following topics:

    • English Language and Comprehension: Candidates' understanding of the basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. and to test comprehension, a simple paragraph may be given and question based on the paragraph to be asked.

    • Numerical and Mathematical Ability: Integers and Whole Numbers, LCM and HCF, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between numbers, Fundamental Arithmetic Operations and BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Work and Time, Direct and inverse Proportions, Averages, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Area and Perimeter of Basic Geometric Figures, Distance and Time, Lines and Angles, Interpretation of simple Graphs and Data, Square and Square roots etc.

    • Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving: Alpha-Numeric Series, Coding and Decoding, Analogy, Following Directions, Similarities and Differences, Jumbling, Problem Solving and Analysis, Non-verbal Reasoning based on diagrams, age Calculations, Calendar and Clock, etc.

    • General Awareness: The broad coverage of the test will be on Social Studies (History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science and Environmental studies up to 10th Standard.

    8. Selection Process For SSC MTS (Multi Tasking Staff)

    The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a Two - Phase process:

    • Paper 1 (Computer Based Test / Online)
    • PET/ PST (only for the post of Havaldar)

    Phase-I: Computer Based Exam:

    SSC MTS EXAM will consist of 270 total marks, with 90 questions being asked. There will be no penalty for incorrect answers in Session-I, but in Session-II, each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of one mark.

    Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both - Session 1 & Session 2): There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/3rd of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

    • The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)
    • The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in Hindi, English, and 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu)
    • The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two mandatory sessions (Session-I and Session-II)
    • The schedule of examinations is tentative and any changes will be informed through the Commission's website
    • There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores and no correspondence on this matter will be entertained.

    Phase-II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN

    Physical Standard Test (PST): The minimum physical standards for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN are as follows:
