    • The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the new International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Area office & Innovation Centre in India.
    • The inauguration took place at a programme held in Vigyan Bhawan.
    • Shri Narendra Modi also unveiled the Bharat 6G Vision Document at the same programme.
    • The Prime Minister launched the 6G R&D Test Bed to promote research and development of 6G technology.

    3. The Ministry of Ayush and ECHS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate Ayurveda at 10 Polyclinics.

     

    • The Ministry of Ayush and Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare/ECHS, Ministry of Defence (ECHS/DoESW) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate Ayurveda in ECHS Polyclinics.
    • The MoU is for a period of five years.
    • Ten polyclinics in Ambala, Mysore, Ranchi, Nagpur, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Meerut, Danapur, and Allepey (Alappuzha) will establish Ayurveda OPD services.

    4. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and dedicated development projects worth Rs. 1780 crores in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

    5. The Government of India has launched the NRCP for the prevention and control of rabies.

     

    • The Indian government has implemented the National Rabies Control Programme (NRCP) to prevent and control the spread of rabies.
    • The program includes providing rabies vaccines and immunoglobulin, training on animal bite management and prevention of rabies, and strengthening surveillance and coordination between sectors.

    6. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved Rs. 318 crores for the Tanakpur-Pithoragarh All-Weather Road.

     

    • The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs 318 crore for the construction of a 150-km-long all-weather road from Tanakpur to Pithoragarh.
    • The project will be executed in four phases, with the first phase focusing on repairing 49 landslide-prone spots along the route.
    • The all-weather road will remain open even during the monsoon season, improving connectivity in the region.

    7. NHIDCL and CSIR-SERC have signed an MoU for innovative highway engineering.

     

    • NHIDCL and CSIR-SERC have signed an MoU for sharing knowledge on innovative ideas and technologies in the field of highway engineering.
    • NHIDCL is a CPSE under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India, while CSIR-SERC is a research center based in Chennai.
