    1. What is the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)?

    XAT is a national-level entrance exam that opens doors to premier management institutes such as XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT, and XIMB. Known for its rigorous testing of candidates' decision-making and aptitude skills, XAT stands apart for its unique pattern, including a dedicated decision-making section that tests critical thinking.

    3.  Marking Scheme in XAT 2025

    Understanding the marking scheme is vital for strategizing during the exam:

    • Correct answers earn +1 mark.
    • Incorrect answers incur a penalty of -0.25 marks.
    • No penalty for unanswered questions; however, after eight unanswered questions, a penalty of -0.10 marks per question applies.

    5. Changes in XAT 2025 Pattern

    The total number of questions decreased from 105 in previous years to 95. The total duration was reduced from 210 minutes to 180 minutes. The essay writing section was eliminated from the XAT 2025 exam but will be included in the XLRI selection process. The number of questions in the General Knowledge section decreased from 25 to 20.

    6. XAT 2025 Expected Cut-offs

    Based on the difficulty level and candidate feedback, the expected cut-offs for XAT 2025 are anticipated to be slightly lower than previous years. Here’s a projected cut-off table:

    The XAT 2025 exam consists of four sections: Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge.



    XAT 2025 was considered moderate to difficult. While the Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR) and Decision-Making (DM) sections were moderate, the Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI) section posed a significant challenge for many candidates.



    The exam consisted of a total of 95 questions divided across four sections:

    • Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning (26 questions)
    • Decision Making (21 questions)
    • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (28 questions)
    • General Knowledge (20 questions)

    Yes, some notable changes in the XAT 2025 exam pattern included:

    • The total number of questions reduced from 105 to 95.
    • The exam duration was shortened from 210 minutes to 180 minutes.
    • The General Knowledge section was reduced to 20 questions, with a separate time allocation of 10 minutes.
    • The essay writing component was removed and will now be part of the Group Discussion and Personal Interview stages.

    The Decision-Making section was moderately difficult, with realistic case-based questions. Most candidates aimed for 12-14 good attempts in this section to secure a competitive score.

    The GK section focused on current affairs and general awareness, with many questions related to business, politics, and international events. Most candidates found this section relatively easier than the others.
